Next up in the canning recipe line up is a super simple, but rewarding recipe. I'm calling them sliced and spiced peaches. It’s your standard canned peaches in white grape juice with some spices to zing up the flavor a bit. I used cinnamon, allspice and cloves. You can see my ingredients below, don’t you love my geese?
White Grape Juice
Peel the peaches. A great way to do this is to drop the peach into boiling water for 30 seconds, then drop it into ice water. The peels usually slide right off, but there will always be a couple that refuse to cooperate. Slice the peaches, discard the pits (or plant them). Coat them in lemon juice to prevent the fruit from darkening. Pack the slices into jars, add a cinnamon stick to each jar, add roughly 1 or 2 allspice pods and cloves, more or less depending on your tastes. Heat the juice to a boiling point and can as usual.
