I thought I would share some pictures of my ongoing food in jars project. The first picture is of all of my canning so far this year. From left to right, we have salsa, pickled green beans, strawberry preserves, strawberry jam, peach slices, peach jam, chai plum syrup, fruit cocktail and the two small jars in front are blueberry lavendar from my neice’s wedding.
I love this picture. You can see a bit of the canning stuff at the top. The second shelf is beans, nuts, seeds, rice, etc. The bottom shelf is flours, polenta, cocoa, sugar, pasta & snacks. One of the things I love to do is cut the labels off of what I am putting in the jar, you can see the flour label in the antique ball jar on the front left on the bottom shelf. It’s a good way to not only let you know what is what, but to put a date on it and to remember what brands you like or not.
